Griffin speaking at the Norwegian University Science and TechnologyDr. David Ray Griffin is one of the most respected theologians in the U.S. He has become a leader in the 9/11 Truth movement because of the massive inconsistencies in the official explanation for this event, and because 9/11 has been used to justify wars, torture, detention without trial, and a retrenchment of our constitutional rights. He states, “If 9/11 is not a religious issue, I don’t know what is.”
Professor Griffin has twice been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and has been named one of “The 50 People Who Matter Today” by the New Statesman, Sept. 24, 2009.
With Dr. Griffin’s unique perspective as theologian, philosopher, and empirical researcher, this talk promises to be a thought-provoking discussion of the moral justifications used to support the war in Afghanistan.
Prof. Griffin’s first book about 9/11 was The New Pearl Harbor (2004), a scholarly book with detailed footnotes that systematically questions the official story of 9/11. This was followed by The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions (2005), which convincingly deconstructs the official 9/11 Commission report, Christian Faith and the Truth Behind 9/11 (2006), 9/11 and American Empire: Intellectuals Speak Out (co-editor, 2006), Debunking 9/11 Debunking, a detailed response to mainstream media’s discrediting the 9/11 Truth movement (2007), and 9/11 Contradictions: An Open Letter to Congress and the Press (2008).
On the eighth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Griffin published The Mysterious Collapse of World Trade Center 7: Why the Final Official Report About 9/11 Is Unscientific and False (2009), an indictment of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s “Final Report” on the collapse of World Trade Center 7.
Justification for the war in Afghanistan, the subject of this lecture, is the topic of his next book, to be published in 2010.
